Bosh as greatest Raptor is more undesirable than desirable

Chris Bosh will go down as the greatest Toronto Raptor off all time after breaking Vince Carter's franchise mark for career points. But in reality, is that something to brag about? In all honesty, no. Bosh has been a main stay in Toronto since arriving in 2003 and has only gotten better every year. The problem is, the organization has not and while Bosh has every inconceivable record for this organization, his talents have gone wasted here in Toronto. Which is why this record and his other achievements will never get the true respect it deserves.

In a city which considers itself a major league player in sports, we are so desperate for a winner, we will attach ourselves to anything remotely close to a winner (hello Leaf fans). Year after year, instead of saying: "wait till next year", we say: "maybe next year" and that is why Chris Bosh's record is so insignificant. Bosh has always come across as team guy and is willing to do what it takes to make the Raptors a better team. And for that, fans love him compared to Vince. The biggest difference between Chris and Vince; Vince was trying to pull the wool over our eyes, only we knew what he was doing and we caught him (in terms of effort, dedication, and hustle), while Chris has been straight up with this city. How many times can you honestly say in Chris Bosh's career, he has taken a night off? Compared to Vince it's night and day.

My fellow blogger, Utarid and I have had this discussion in the past whether Bosh is a superstar or not. We both agree he is, but he is more of "1A" (ex. Garnett, Brandon Roy, Joe Johnson) star than "the star" (ex. Kobe, LeBron, Wade, Duncan), which means, if you put him with a trio of 1A guys like Garnett was with Allen and Pierce, you have your team to beat. Bosh is new representative of power forwards for this millenium. Gone are the likes of the Karl Malone's and Charles Barkley's who were bangers inside, yet could still knock the open jumper when need be. Bosh is more of a finesse player who prefers to work outside than inside. It has only been this year that Bosh has attacked more inside, by putting on an extra 20 pounds just to endure battles inside. When was last time you heard Vince doing anything like that? Chris is smart enough to know if he continues on this pace of playing great basketball, he will have even more control of where he ends up next year, and you can't blame him for that.

Chris Bosh is a terrific player who has represented Toronto extremely well since arriving here and should be congratulated for this record, but again, when Doug Christie is the 4th all time leading scorer in this franchises history, hold the applause to golf clap status. And if Bosh does decide to leave after next year, pray Mr. Colangelo has something ready, because looking on the horizon for this team, Pops Mensah-Bonsu is no Chris Bosh.

great read, i think we will have to discuss mr BC's options within the month, or maybe wait till Feb after trade deadline.

VCs body actually go worst as his career has gone on. Look @ a pic of Vince in 2000 and then look at one in 2007, eewwwww.

Bottom line is CB4 has done it for us since he was a skinny baby faced rook out of GTech, the guy is 1A talent, and if ends up somewhere with the number 1 talent, it will be ridiculous.

In my opinion, to be honest with you, he will be the most coveted FA of 2010 seeing as he is a 1A, a franchise cannot go wrong with bringing him in. You add him into the mix with another 1A or 1 player, and you got your self a chip.
