Bosh looks for franchise mark as Raptors host Spurs

Chris Bosh, is gonna cement himself today as the greatest Raptor of all time, with just 15 more points to surpass Vince Carter as our all time points leader. Chris Bosh, as of right now holds the following records as a Raptor, according to wiki:

Toronto's all-time leader in defensive rebounds
Toronto's all-time leader in offensive rebounds
Toronto's all-time leader in rebounds per game in a season
Toronto's all-time leader in blocks
Toronto's all-time leader in double-doubles
Toronto's all-time leader in free throws made and attempted

When you add in the points to this pretty decent resume, he has to be considered the greatest Raptor of all time. AAaaaaaand, i pretty much guarantee he is up there in assists, 6/7 seasons of playing and not missing many games, would put him there by default. It is a little bitter sweet, cause i love Vince Carter as a player, AS A PLAYER...his talent was immense, and he really put Toronto on his back during his time here. Vince was a true Superstar during his tenure with the Raptors, BUT like everything in life, all good things must come to an end. I have been wanting to write about Vince Carter for a bit now, and of course ill be talking about each Raptor game on here, so stay tuned for a follow up on both this achievement, the game and of course WINCE, i mean Vince Carter.

thoughts...??? anyone?

and yah, you gotta love that photo lol....classic, he's a texan at heart.

  1. the orlando magic were in the finals last year. if they cant get back there with vince [in place of turkoglu], it will prove once and for all that vince carter is alot of things, but A WINNER is not one of them.

move to the left and say hi to karl malone for me.

  2. to be honest, mr bull, the cavs, hawks and celtics all look really strong. the addition of vince i believe gives the magic a better overall team, vince can handle the rock and pass very well, but he can break you down and draw a double, Hedo could never do that. Not sure if your keeping up with the raps, but the guy so far this year (hedo) has sucked giant monkey balls.....

with that being said, vince's legacy will be simple, an explosive scorer and the greatest dunker the game has ever seen. In my opinion.

Like his cousin Tracy, they wont win shit. I agree with you on that.

But here's the real doozy, is he HOF material...?? his numbers and all star appearances warrant it,he's been to the 2nd round unlike his cousin, and he is the greatest dunker the game has ever seen....hmmmmm

could he be in Mass one day?

  3. The thing is, Vince's present in Orlando won't matter at all is he doesn't stay healthy. I never questioned Vince's skill level as a basketball player, but I have always questioned his will to win and be a team player. I know Kev, that you are a huge VC fan, but I don't know if he could do the trick for the Magic. As you mentioned already, the Cavs, Celts and Hawks look tough to beat this year. I don't think the Magic will get it done.

On a side note, Wilson Chandler is staying to pick up his game man. I thought he was a weak link on my team, but I think in the past 6 games or so, he has been averaging nearly 20.0 pts/game. Keeping with fantasy, I don't understand why Don Nelson plays Randolph for only 23 mins. He should be averaging at least 30 (I believe). Sticking with the Warriors, how do you think biedrins will bounce back? Think he will have another 10 pts 10 board season?

    Take it easy

  4. Lupo, Vince Carter since leaving Toronto rejuvenated himself and has missed a minimum amount of games during his tenure with the nets and now with the magic he has struggled a bit with a severely sprained ankle but besides that i think he is a major upgrade at the swing spot for the magic. Hedo is not Vince, dont get it twisted, Hedo looked great last season because he played with a big that made things easier for everyone on the court. The Magic are still putting it together, Jameer has been on the outs for the majority of the season with injuries, and Vince has looked decent so far with the Magic. After all star break i think they will be a force.

Lupo im gonna discuss some fantasy next week for sure, Chandler has been a victim to D'Antoni's debauchery in NY. He benefited with the absence of Nate Robinson for the past 6 games or so. But after the 41 pt outburst i think his fantasy value takes a hit. The guy is a great, great player and needs consistent playing time to keep up those solid numbers. I truly believe he will be a corner stone for that franchise and can / will be the 1A talent in 2011 once the Knicks acquire a heavy FA this summer....

Nellie, thats a post all on its own. Dont be surprised to see that team being dismantled in Feb....ill blog on Nellie next week as well.

  5. Sweet, I am always looking forward to talking fantasy. Btw, we will be facing off in a few weeks and it should be a good tilt. Anyways, Back to VC, I think he is having a great year in terms of production, but I was solely pointing out that he is a potential liability in terms of his health. I am sticking to what I said about Hedo, in that it was the worst signing that Colangelo has made since being in TO. Almost 10 mill a year!!! WTF!! I compare this signing to the B.J. Ryan signing the Blue Jays made a few years ago. Granted, they are different situations, but the end product will be the same. In keeping with the Jays, I hope we sign Chapman. Can you imagine the rotation we will have in the near future... McGowan, Marcum, Drabek, Romero, and Chapman!!! If, in three years, we have this rotation, and add in two more big bats, we will be contenders.
