Fighter's love to look and feel good. Whether it's training preparing for a fight or getting ready to walk out infront of hundreds of screaming fans before a fight, it's all about presenting yourself. Image is key, fashion is all over. It's what helps the brands that sponsor fighter's get notice and in the end hopefully have orders the next day wanting to buy the apparel the consumers saw on their favourite fighters. Me personally I love to look good. When I am training of course it's about quality versus quantity but you gotta stand out. I like things that defines itself, whether it's apparel or equipment your first instinct should always be the x-factor of deciding to purchase the product. Well not everbody is a fashion guy like me but i mean just the basics like trying different brands and see which one fits better, fabrics brands uses such as bamboo, cotton, organic fabrics, or even a mixture of cotton and polyester. Even the cut of the product is a key assest, a apparel can fit good in certain areas but in some cases like a shirt the shirt can fit good length wise but what about the sleeves. Some shirts are straight cut with a triangle shape cut for the sleeves thus making the shirt look sloppy for guys that don't have big arms, or with jeans, the cut itself could either be straightleg, tappered, slimcut or bootcut but the length of it could either be too long or too short. Then making a trip to your neighbourhood alteration place and spending $20 bucks pending which alteration you want, european or basic. Either way all i am saying is that choose wisely and be sure if you wear products like TapOut, Affliction or even Badboy know that there is a bullseye on your back and your just asking for a fight at any time so be prepared. With all the hardwork you put in training be ready to kick someone's ass because you look fly wearing your new tee.
It's tough to find a location that has to best of best in the fight industry. Normally people would suggest going into a academy to get the top notch fight gears, then pay ridiculous high prices for the product when there production cost is probably half of what you pay on the shelves. What do you do? well do your homework and research. I personally been all over the GTA trying to find a home to buy my products. Various of franchises and small independant stores I have gone in and walk right out because of the service they provided was shit or just because their prices are just to high. With my background in fashion It enables me to find out who is jacking up prices and who is loyal to its consumers. It took me a while but I found it. On the strip of lakeshore Mississauga just east of cawthra I happened to notice a store that said " ULTIMATE THREADS THE ULTIMATE IN FASHION AND MMA APPAREL". A pretty bold statement if you say so decided to stop in for a visit and see if they live up to their statement. By walking in already you can see the various of brands this store has to offer. Everything from Xtreme Couture, Affliction, Ed hardy, SIlverstar, all the top brands you see fighter's wear they have it. I was amazed by the atmosphere the store has, the store was clean and tidy not your everday little shop you have in academys that all you can smell is sweat. Apparels are organize by brand which is awesome because you can simply see which area of the store your favourite brand is located, and on one side is the men section and the other is the women side. Usually going into other mma stores they limit the women lines because not a lot of women would go into stores like that. However at Ultimate Threads the mass in quantity for brands is equal. So definitely a positive if your a women looking for threads. Then all the way in the back is where heaven is. Their fighitng gears. From gloves to shinpads, they have it for you. They have the top brands that specifically design to fit and feel the best. The store has everything for a fighter and your everyday mainstream fan.
Other key factor with this store is the customer service they provide. Right from opening the door I was greeted and acknowledge. The right serivce any consumer would like coming into the store. It makes you feel like home, and then met the right guy to speak too- the owner. Miguel introduce himself and shook my hand and welcomed me to his store and even gave me a tour. What amazes is me about this is because he takes care of his client, it shows his commitment and passion to what he offers and brings to his store and wants nothing more than having a returning consumer. He carefully explains the different texture and fabrics different brands uses making it easier for me to come up with a decision into purchasing something. He was even consulting which product looked best and gave his honest opinions. WHO DOES THAT? the owner will downplay a brand he carrys because he is honest that product did not look good on. Now as I am racking up on t-shirts and fighting gears he explained breif history about his store and himself and even wanted to know more about me. From there I have already found a place that I know will have the best of the best. Plus with the service the store provides makes them stand out from the rest.
Since my first trip I havent shop anywhere else. Throughout my many visits I would come in and tell Miguel news abou the latestt cagefashion and what is hot on the market and he would follow up and research on it, I told him to look at the brand BadBoy and what does he do he brings it in. he listens to his clients needs and wants and very rare you will find that in stores. usually you would have to speak or email directly to there HQ and know they wont listen or read the stuff you want but at UT the owner himself will have your attention and listen to what would bring more clients in and what would help his store succeed. Miguel always follow up on me and go out of his way and inform me the latest threads he got or the new Hayabusa gears ( my favourite fight brand) he stock in his store. In favour for his service I would bring in close friends of mind and with the friends I have brought to the store not one person spent anything under $100. That's how great the store is because of the service aswell as the prices are reasonable. So if your in need of new threads and want the latest in cagefashion or if your in need of fight gears go to ULTIMATE THREADS.......
