Response to Fish Bowl bet
They say coaching doesn't make a difference at this level, but clearly you can see Denver is shook. George Karl is a tough coach who gets on his players hard, while Adrian Dantley is not a yeller, a screamer or a coach who rails on his players. If you want a comparison in life, remember back when you were in school and that crusty teacher would be away and you had the care free substitute. Tell me you didn't notice the class acting differently. Since Karl left to get cancer treatment, the players have played too loose and are taking too many chances. Best example is J.R. Smith. This dude is killing Denver alone with his shot selection. Carmelo is right, he can't do it alone. Denver seems likes a mess and they need to get refocused, but when you have no size inside and Utah's bigs are controlling the paint, you gotta think the end is near.
In the other 2 series, Phoenix will advance, just on the notion that Nash won't let this team lose and Portland is to banged up. Even with Brandon Roy back, Portland doesn't have the depth to keep up with the Suns. And even though, Portland likes to muck it up and play slow, the Suns are making the adjustments to combat this style. I can see Portland winning game 6, but not the series. The tiebreaker series will be Dallas and San Antonio. The Spurs are making that final push for one more chip and at this time, you gotta like them in the open West. They are such a well coached team with players who know their exact role. Outside of Manu, George Hill has really impressed me and is looking more and more like a baller. For Dallas, they are a stacked team, maybe too stacked. Dirk can only do so much, but guys like Marion and Caron gotta play more consistent to help out. I can see this series pushing 7, but it will be close. Hands down, the best series in the first round. This series reminds me of Chicago and New York in the 90's. Physical, dirty, hard defense and superstars coming up big.
I like my pics in this bet and I think I will come out on top. My good friend Kev needs to stop boozing while making bets with me, as well as going to that dark spot he goes to when he boozes (never seen a guy get violent and hurl after drinking 2 Bacardi breezers). To put it in perspective, please watch the clip below and you tell me if I should be worried.

SONG CRY
UFC president Dana White with Strikeforce middleweight champ Jake Shields at ringside during the WEC 48: FABER vs. ALDO card in Sacramento.
Consider this a slap in the face. Your champion with your rival promotion all smiles and giggles to the cameras. Scott Croker this is a Song Cry for you my friend. As Dana pointed it out to you, Should had never bet against YOUR champion. Now your middleweight champion can potentially leave your promotion to your biggest rival. So what are you going to do?
"Can't see it coming down my eye's, so I gotta make this song cry..."
Officially Ready for the WWE - Tito/Jenna = Gold Dust/Marlena
Foo.
Anyhow, Ortiz, your getting older, your best days are past you, so just do the inevitable from now. Join the WWE, you can revive Sunder's wrestling hero growing up, Gold Dust. Seriously, you already got the doo, got the look somewhat, it would be an easy transition. Reconcile with your wife, and boom, you have your new Marlena. Makes sense, this couple is and has been straight WWE from time!!!! Think DDP, Macho Man, and of course, Gold Dust. You got the mouth to cut a promo, the athletic ability to actually do stuff in the ring, and the charisma to fit in perfectly with the wacky world of professional wrestling.
Vince McMahon, thrives on controversy and after the departure of his big stars in the early 2000s (the rock, stone cold, etc) he needs something to bring attention to a "sport" that has gotten pretty lame. Call your boy Tito, he'd fit right in and since all this 'heat' is on him now, you have a full out 'heel' on your hands with media attention...anybody here chhhchinnnng $$$$
I swear, I should sell these ideas.....and eh, this is the 2nd Gold Dust reference made on the blog lol

KID YAMAMOTO WILL OFFICIALLY MAKE IS STRIKEFORCE DEBUT COME MAY 15
Yamamoto (17-3) once ranked among the best in their weight classes. World Extreme's Cagefighting former champion Urijah Faber, went so far as to call out Kid a few years ago in an attempt to get a match up with the man considered the no.1 featherweight at that time. But last year produced setbacks to Yamamoto whom was returning to MMA after not fighting at all in 2008. Came out of the wrong end of the judges score cards in a shocking defeat to newcomer Joe Warren in May Dream's featherweight grand prix quarterfinal, followed by another decision lost to Masanori Kanehara on New Year's Eve DYNAMITE! event.
Blessed with speed and power the 5'4 decorated japanese fighter was at one point on a 14 fight win streak dating back to his first loss of his career in 2002. He has quite a impressive resume with victories over top ranked fighter's; Caol Uno, Royler Gracie, and Bibiano Fernandez. He has also fought Genki Sudo in 2005 and won by TKO to capture K-1 HEROS Middleweight Grand Prix title. He also has the fastest knockout in K-1 history back in 2006 against Kazuyuki Miyata. As soon as the bell rang he came right after kazuyuki and delievered a devestating flying knee, 4 seconds young into the match. One of the most impressive KO in mma history and also one of the popular KO searched on Youtube.
Kid has also has a professional kickboxing record of 1-3, not as impressive as his MMA stats but it shows how versatile the KILLERBEE/PUREBRED product is. He fought one of the respected Japanese Kickboxer Masato at '04 on K-1 Premium Dynamite! Masato has a 5 inch height advantage to Kid's frame however Yamamoto wasn't afraid to stand up and trade punches. At one point he caught Masato with a beautiful left hook to the face of Masato, and had his legs buckle and dropped, Kid followed with a vicious uppercut while Masato was on the ground, Silverwolf managed to escape the attack and won the match via decision. Like most prominent fighter's Yamamoto isn't afraid to take on challenges whether it's going up against larger opponents. His natural weight is 143 lbs though most mixed martial artist his size usually compete's in Bantamweight (135 lbs), many of his most significant fights have been at lightweight (155 lbs).
He has been dealing with a lot of personal problems last year, with the divorce of his wife Japanese model Malia of 5 years whom has supported and been with him throughout his career couldn't find a balance between both of their busy schedule. She has gone on and stated that she has kept her end of the bargain by supporting their three kids, and yet he hasn't found time to put in effort to do his part. Rumours have swirl that reason for the break up was because of Yamamoto's decision to move to the United States inwhich Malia refuse too because her family and friends are here (Japan). He has gone on and said that he has hope to reconcile with Malia in the future and feels he strongly loves her.
So this is a perfect situation for Kid, a new surrounding a new breed of team to help him prepare for his Strikeforce debut against Federico Lopez (4-2). I have been a huge fan of his not because of his flamboyant status but because of his versatility in his game. Fuelled with different arsenals he has proven in the past he is one of those fighter's you just don't look passed on. Sure he is at the peaked of 33 years old but remember he is a experience fighter, and wouldn't want nothing more that to stake his claim as one of the best featherweight fighter's of all time. I consider him as one of my idols in my game and one of the purest fighter's out there. You may not have heard of him but you will come MAY 15.
FREDERICO LOPEZ I HOPE YOUR READY.....MY BOY WILL FUCK YOU UP....
Fishbowl Bet Update #3
Quick Recap:
-Utah is up on the Nuggets, 3-1, and I thought I'd never, ever say this but the Nuggets just aren't the same w/o their head coach George Karl
-SA is up on the Mavs, 3-1, in a series of maximus tighticus games. Despite the 3-1 series lead on paper, like we called it before hand. This series has been nothing short of great.
So those two basically cancel each other out, there is no f'n way either one of those teams will be able to come back from a 3-1 deficit. Just a reminder, I had the Spurs and Nuggets in those two series. All this leads to the do or die so to speak, Suns/Blazers. After last night the Suns took a 3-2 series lead, and at this point this one is to tough to call.
The Blazers need one to tie and for me to hold on and be able to drown myself in a fishbowl full of da juice......let's go blazers!!
Just a prediction....Brandon Roy will go off in the next game. Its a reach but I need something to screw with Sunder's head.

Foul on You!
Like seriously!!!
Question is, "are there such things as a 'superstar' call on the defensive end of things?"
Hmmmm..... Let's think about that for a second, Kobe, Lebron, Durant, Wade, Melo, etc, etc, all of those guys, well specifically those guys, get that 'superstar' call on the offensive side of things. I mean between all those above mentioned guys, they might have a combined 25225225 FT attempts for the season. Now on the other side of the court, Howard leads the L in blocks, boards and is probably the last guy anyone in the NBA wants to see on the weak side, strong side or 3 ft away from the hoop on a drive.
Especially all those guys mentioned above.
Yet, he gets tagged 'Foul on You' by his team mates, cause he gets no love from the ref's. Obviously the guy is gonna fool peeps, cause he's a defensive player but if you are leading the league in boards, blocks and all that other good stuff (not to mention a possible mvp candidate), I think, just a hunch, you kinda know what your doing on that end of the court. Like COME ON!!
Hakeem the Dream, my favorite center of all time at one point in the league was the premier defender inside the paint, leading the league in blocks and boards. Yet, I remember very clearly, he barley fouled outta games. Back then you were facing, Charles, Pippen, MJ, Ewing, Malone....I can keep on going, but my point is simple. The NBA has kinda made things a bit ummm, what's that other word for kitty???
This is the playoffs, this is where all that friendly ish ends, and this is where the boys get separated from the men. People wanna see Dwight wire to wire and the NBA needs to showcase this guy and get people (especially the younger cats) excited about DEFENCE!!
'Foul on You' should be renamed to 'Your Really Lucky I Didn't Take YOUR F'N Head Off'.......oh yah and you gotta add the proverbial 'son' in there somewhere. Dwight, the brokeankles fam salutes you and your crazy ass shoulders and crazy ass blocks.
You crasssssy guy!

WEC 48: NO CALIFORNIA LOVE FOR THE KID.
In front of 15,000 fans packed in Arco arena at Sacramento Faber’s hometown, Jose Aldo the reigning World Extreme Cage fighting champion put on the promotions most dominant performance in recent memory. Leaving the octagon without a scratch on him, Aldo (17-1) threw himself in contention to be the best pound for pound fighter in the world, defending his title with a decision win over ex-champ Faber in the main event.
The first pay-per-view event for WEC, the card itself gave fans the money worth, and Aldo showcase a performance people will start remembering his name with two judges scoring 49-45 and one judge 50-45.
What was supposed to be considered fight of the year by many mma analyst, this match overturned to be a lopsided affair. Following the entrance to Faber’s “California Love”-by 2Pac he decided to silence the crowd and entered with “I run this town” by Jay-z and Rhianna thus rushing to the octagon ready for war. Aldo threw deadly and powerful leg kicks to Faber’s leg which made him immobile. Following the end of the third round, Faber’s team carried Faber to his corner to save him from putting extra weight on a shattered left leg.
“Every time I step into the Octagon, I’m trying for the finish,” said Aldo, who improved to 7-0 in WEC. “Every time I step into the Octagon, I’m trying for the finish,” said Aldo, who improved to 7-0 in WEC.
Faber was competitive during the first round but Aldo soon found his range. Aldo vicious kicks to Faber’s lead leg took away any of Faber’s unorthodox style of combos plus making him helpless for any attempts to take Aldo to the ground, essentially making him a sitting target for one of the most aggressive finishers in mma. “I trained a lot of defence for leg kicks but he was very effective with them. He really took away my legs,” said Faber (23-4).
In the fourth round, Aldo had Faber put in a mounted crucifix-pinning Faber’s both arm’s to the mat, and reigned more than 90 seconds of elbows and punches to Faber’s face. Somehow Faber was able to withstand the brutal pounding but was overmatched early with another deadly kick to his lead leg, and had no chance of a comeback.
“It was a tough fight. I tried my best,” said a bitterly disappointed Faber, who had hoped to regain the title in his hometown.

PRIDE PAID THE PRICE
The Fishbowl Bet Update
So after another weekend of playoff Basketball, here is where Sunder and I stack up:
Utah up on the Nuggets 3-1 (sunder's up 2 games on me)
SA up on the Mavs 3-1 (im winning, IN YO FACE KID)
and of course its just fitting that are "tiebreaker" is at a tie, Suns and Blazers at 2 games a piece.
All the "insiders" on ESPN had the Suns winning in 5-6 games, beat it.....like i have said before, i just dont like the Suns in the post season, winning in the regular season is one thing where that high octane offense ish works, but if yo dont play D, you dont win in the post season.
Lets see.....

I LOVE THIS KID
The Fishbowl Bet
Sunder and I argue almost everyday about ball, its actually habit now. He takes one side, ill take the other, almost automatically, thats the dynamic of two good friends i guess, especially in terms of sports.
Lately our favorite bet has been the good ole "fish bowl" bet, hence the fishbowl above, now the fishbowl was introduced to us by a kind waitress who sniffed out to drunks sitting in a booth and instead of offering us a glass of vodka/water or johnny/ale, she offered us a whole fishbowl. Literally. An entire fishbowl of booze. Wow. Sunder being the latter b**ch actually cant finish one cause he gets "headaches" as he like to state, in addition to his pharmaceutical addictions of Viagra, Pep-to bismol and Flintstone vitamins, the man is always in a state of sedation. Factor this on top of a violent temper and "hitting" problem, and the fact he enjoys wearing Pampers, people ask me still "how are you friends with this guy?"
dont know.
anyhow, here are the newest bets we've made about the playoffs, and fishbowls to the winner:
I have the Blazers over the Suns
He has Mavs over the Spurs
I have the Nuggets over the Jazz
lets do a quick recap:
Blazers down 2-1
Mavs/Spurs tied at 1-1
Nuggets/Jazz tied at 1-1
So far so good, the loss last night the Blazers had all stemmed from a rare career game from JRich, so i think the Blazers get one back in the next game. Mavs/Spurs, this one is tricky, still dont know......Nuggets/Jazz, well the Nuggets have to play in Utah, crazy, crazy, they will need to steal one for me to go outright. Its funny how we only bet on the West, East in the first round is way too easy to predict. Lets see if we can up are game, in Round 2 in the West (i just know he's gonna bet against LAL at some point).
Sunder, suppose you win, im video tapping you downing one whole fishbowl, live.

NFL 2010 Draft Preview
2 months, 3 weeks, 5 days… down to the nitty gritty now. The 2010 NFL Draft is right around the corner, and to be quite frank- it cannot come soon enough. To say that a fan could literally lose their minds with all of these "predictions" and mock drafts, is an understatement. All this being said as I nervously flip back and forth to the Bills forums trying to see what the latest scoop is! A first round "bust" pick is costly to any team, think JaMarcus Russell, FAT chance the Raiders would make that mistake again.
As the newest NFL "freshies" sit back and wait to hear where they'll be spending the most trying year of their career proving themselves, the front office cadres across the league are frantically debating who they will choose with their bite of the picks. With all of the forecasters making their predictions about the draft, I've chosen to skip the redundant chatter and take a look into the high risk / high reward (?) first rounder's coming into the league. Most obviously starting with the "cream of the crop" (clearly not referring to the Rams), Sam Bradford. Bradford's surgically repaired throwing arm and questionable toughness are a cause for concern for teams interested.
He'll also be faced with a major transition from Oklahoma's offense to an NFL attack, especially getting thrown into a rebuilding team like St. Louis. If the Rams do decide to use their golden ticket on Sammy boy, he will have to be a star to make their pick justifiable. On a positive note, this kid has been called a probable "franchise QB" by almost every analyst so we may have a Joe Flacco or Mark Sanchez on our hands. Only time will tell. In the words of Jay Z "on to the next one"- Jimmy Clausen.
As a Bills fan I could write an entire blog about the pros and cons of this kid, but I won't bore you with my see-saw exposition. Whispers around the league focus on 2 things: Clausen's lack of leadership and his cockiness. It could be playing in Weis' system that made Clausen look "larger than life" but making him a questionable addition to the NFL. This could be the reason why no one is really sure when he will be chosen. The reward with Clausen – he is ready for the pressure of the NFL, has a great arm and I believe his "swagger" is what is making him ready for the big leagues.
One thing is for sure the Seahawks, Raiders, Bills and Jaguars with mid to late picks in the top 10, will be looking at Jimbo. Side note, Mel Kiper and his hair have predicted Clausen being chosen over Bradford… too much hairspray in that quaff my friend.
Veering away from the QB position and onto a kid I see being an all star Safety one day, Taylor Mays of USC. I know what you're thinking, the guy had 1 interception last year – True. But humor me and put the blame on his want for making big hits. He killed it at the combine with his speed but needs to focus on reading the QB and improving his coverage instincts. There hasn't been too much media hype surrounding Mays in the last little while which leads me to believe that he will be a late first rounder, possibly even early second. Regardless, he's a bloodthirsty hitter with the body to back it up and who will add instant physical prowess to any defense lucky enough to grab him.
You thought those hours you spent filling in your bracket in March was madness, guess again my friends, forecasting the outcome of an NFL draft could make anyone sprout a few grays… careful Mel.

Really? You let this guy beat you Chicago
Here's a guy that has no fundamentals or true skill set as a player. He relies strictly on his athleticism. The guy has no shot, barely rebounds and couldn't guard LeBron's James kids. Yet last night, this happy go lucky chump hits 4 3's in a game. He didn't do this at all during the regular season. How did this guy get open so much, because LeBron commands so much attention, he draws the defense in, thus kicking it to Jamario "I think I'm Dell Curry" Moon. Trust me, If LeBron can make this guy look good, he deserves to be the MVP.
To put it in perspective for Raptor fans of how crappy this guy is, he was starting for Toronto when he was here, yet in Cleveland, he doesn't crack their rotation. If you are Chicago, I have no problem getting beat by LeBron, great players do this. But when it's Jamario Moon, you can't help but feel this series is over. Granted, this will probably be the only time you hear from Jamario in the post season, as he won't do nothing on the road or in the later rounds. Also, if Cleveland plans to make it to the finals, they might want to tell Mo Williams the playoffs are here.
Before I bounce, sad news today as a hip hop legend passed away in Guru. For youths that think they know hip hop, you have no idea what it is until they listen to this cat. One of the great MC's left his mark and will be missed. Take a lesson and learn about true hip hop.

Brokeankles - Defensive Player of the Year
BUT for argument sake here are your candidates, for the 2009/2010 NBA season:
Ron Artest - always in the talks for being the best if not the best perimeter defender in the NBA. LAL had the best record in the west, Ron Ron was a big, big reason for that.
Anderson Varejao - the cavs have the best record in the league and when u watch a cavs game, w/o looking at Bron, who's the next guy that catches your eye? Sideshow Bob, I mean, Anderson Varejao. A 'pest' on the defensive end no doubt, causing fouls, charges and just muthaf'n havoc non stop. He's one of the rare players in the L that can effect a game coming off the bench w/o really scoring.
Josh Smith - the one man block party. Josh Smith is one of the main reasons the ATL is Hotlanta, the dude makes guys think twice before entering the paint in Atlanta. He plays the passing lanes really well, racks up steals and is a great one on one defender. Any other time this is you're NBA defensive player of the year.
But, there's this guy who plays in Orlando. He's pretty good. Like he's actually ridiculous on the defensive end. Like Hakeem ridiculous with a mix of Mourning.
Who wins? The guy from Orlando. Hands Down, do I even need to explain? He had 8 blocks in the first half of game 1 against the Bobcats. 8.
Damn.
.....Next up, 6th man of the year.

TO MY QUEEN
BROKEANKLES MMA RANKING
ENJOOI..
Heavyweight
1) Fedor Emelianenko (WAMMA HW CHAMPION)
2) Brock Lesnar ( UFC HW CHAMPION)
3) Shane Carwin (INTERM UFC HW CHAMPION)
4) Cain Velasquez
5) Junior Dos Santos
6) Brett Rogers
7) Frank Mir
8) Alistair Overeem ( STRIKEFORCE HW CHAMPION)
9) Antonio Rodrigo Nogueira
10) Fabricio Werdum
Didn't Make The Cut: Andrei Arlovski, Gabriel Gonzaga, Antonio Silva, Josh Barnett, Bobby Lashley
Breakdown: Until Fedor or Lesnar fall, the two remain entrenched at the top of the heavyweight division. Carwin, Velasquez and Dos Santos have each positioned themselves for a shot at the UFC title, with the interim champion Carwin getting the first nod this summer. All three fighters have impressed with wins over the last couple months and their next trips into the octagon could alter the heavyweight landscape. Mir takes a significant drop after he was dominated by Carwin and may be hard-pressed to break back into the Top 5 anytime soon. Strikeforce has kept their talented big men out of action in 2010 in preparation for their Heavy Artillery fight card in May, which features title holder Overeem taking on Rogers and Arlovski battling Antonio Silva.
Light Heavyweight
1) Mauricio (Shogun) Rua
2) Lyoto Machida (UFC LW CHAMPION)
3) Rashad Evans
4) Quinton (Rampage) Jackson
5) Muhammed (King Mo) Lawal (STRIKEFORCE LW CHAMPION)
6) Gegard Mousasi
7) Anderson Silva
8) Jon Jones
9) Forrest Griffin
10) Antonio Rogerio Nogueira
Didn't Make The Cut: Thiago Silva, Randy Couture, Phil Davis, Luiz Arthur Cane, Vladmir Matyushenko
Breakdown: With only seven professional mixed martial arts contests under his belt, King Mo pulled off the upset on Mousasi and now holds the Strikeforce light heavyweight title. Mousasi is still a skilled combatant despite his uninspired effort and therefore his star doesn't fall very far. UFC middleweight champion Anderson Silva is difficult to project into the light heavyweight ranks, but he has looked exteremely comfortable fighting at the higher weight class and even showed a killer instict which has been lacking in some of his middleweight title defences. (Bones) Jones has the potential to skyrocket up the list over the next year. Plenty will be decided at UFC 113 and UFC 114, when six of the Top 10 fighters will be in action, including Machida putting his title on the line once again against Shogun, and Evans and Griffin settling their rivalry.
Middleweight
1) Anderson Silva (UFC MIDDLEWEIGHT CHAMPION)
2) Chael Sonnen
3) Nate Marquardt
4) Vitor Belfort
5) Jake Shields (STRIKEFORCE MIDDLEWEIGHT CHAMPION)
6) Demian Maia
7) Dan Henderson
8) Robbie Lawler
9) Yoshihiro Akiyama
10) Wanderlei Silva
Didn't Make The Cut: Patrick Cote, Jorge Santiago, Mamed Khalidov, Yushin Okami, Paulo Filho
Breakdown: Middleweight has been a magnet for controversy as of late with Silva's embarrassing antics at UFC 112 in Abu Dhabi, followed by Shields engaging in a post-fight brawl at Strikeforce Nashville. Regardless of his behaviour, Silva continues to dictate the terms of his fights and continues to earn victories. Sonnen has gone on record as saying he is the man to take down the champ, but it will take more than the words of a part-time politician to stop Silva's reign. Belfort is still sidelined by an injury and until his return he becomes an enigma. Shields survived a near first round knock out against Henderson to retain his Strikeforce title, but as a free agent he may be eyeing a shot with the UFC. It's nice that Maia is one of the world's most lethal fighters on the ground, but he was unable to get his hands on Silva and won't be a threat in the division if he can't improve his standup game.
Welterweight
1) Georges St. Pierre (UFC WW CHAMPION)
2) Jon Fitch
3) Thiago Alves
4) Josh Koscheck
5) Paul Daley
6) Paulo Thiago
7) Dan Hardy
8) Martin Kampmann
9) Nick Diaz
10) Mike Swick
Didn't Make The Cut: Carlos Condit, Rory MacDonald, Marius Zaromskis
Breakdown: It must have felt good for St. Pierre to hear chants of "GSP! GSP!" while sitting front row for Silva's bout in Abu Dhabi. The Canadian's next challenge is up in the air, but it appears like he will be staying at welterweight for the time being. Koscheck and Daley are getting ready for what should be an entertaining matchup at UFC 113 in Montreal. Fans who felt robbed of the chance to see Fitch and Alves collide at UFC 111 will be happy to know the two will likely meet this summer, possibly at UFC 115 in Vancouver. Thiago and Kampmann are already officially signed on to face off on the June 12 card at GM Place, as are Canadian Rory MacDonald and Carlos Condit.

CAGE RANTS FOR THE WEEK...
"What's up? Where's my rematch, buddy?" - Jason "Mayhem" Miller, getting a little screen time in the afterglow of Jake Shields's win over Dan Henderson. The Cesar Gracie Fight Team does not take kindly to such indiscretions, and decided to let Miller know how they feel - with kicks and punches. (CBS Telecast)
"This is...this is ridiculous. My god." - CBS broadcaster Mauro Ranallo
"Sometimes these things happen in MMA. A lot of testosterone in the cage. Gentleman! We're on national television! Gentleman! We're on national television!" - CBS play-by-play man Gus Johnson. Gentleman, you can't fight in here! This is the war room!
SAYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYY WHHHHATTTT......EPIC...
"You know, sometimes the testosterone gets going in the cage, and this is what happens." - Johnson. Rising and firing.
"I really apologize for that. It's out of my character. He got me when my emotions were running high." - Shields, in Mauro Ranallo's way.
"That's OK. Let's not take away with what happened tonight." - Johnson, who understands that sometimes testosterone just gets in the way.
"If I could please just say about what took place...There's a time and place for everything. For 'Mayhem' Miller to do what he did to Jake Shields: disgusting. And I was not a fan of that." - Ranallo. Oh, the irony.
"All right, Mauro Ranallo with his opinion." - Johnson, who must love him some post-fight brawling.
"I came here well prepared and Maia disrespected me. I came here to hurt him and punish him and that is what I did." - UFC middleweight champ Anderson Silva, explaining his queer performance at UFC 112. (MMA Torch)
"I'm a black belt, and would never say the things that he said." - Silva (Cage Writer)
"I never said anything too serious, and whether I had said it or not, it would be to promote the fight. That is normal." - Challenger Demian Maia (Gracie Mag)
"He started to call me bad names during the fight. Stuff like, ‘You're a [expletive]ing playboy, come and show me your jiu-jitsu,' things like that." - Maia. Apparently, "playboy" is a very derogatory insult in Brazil, playing on the deep divisions in class.
"I don't feel like I owe anyone an apology right now. Sometimes fights turn out good, sometimes they turn out bad." - Silva, but I spent $50 on it. Wah wah wah.
"[Silva] is a dirtbag anyway, whether he went out there and shook hands and was gracious or he didn't. Who cares? I don't know why sportsmanship needs to be involved, anyways. It's a fight – go do whatever you want." - Chael Sonnen, number one contender to Anderson Silva's UFC middleweight title. (MMA Junkie)
"There's people out there that need [to be] beaten up – he's one of them. And I have a moral obligation to society to beat him up." - Sonnen
"This isn’t like some exciting thing to get to fight him, it’s just truly an annoyance, and I’m looking forward to it being over with just so I can move on and be done with the jerk." - Sonnen (Hardcore Sports Radio)
"I compare Anderson to Britney Spears. She shaved her head to get headlines. Britney Silva went up to 205, retired, etc. Nobody cares." - Sonnen (Sports 1140)
"I've beaten every champion of every company out there. I've lost ten seconds total of my fights combined. You ask me how I'm going to beat him, ask the other 25 guys that got in my way." - Sonnen, one second for every loss.
"I did an autograph signing with Anderson Silva, there was a line around the building to get to my room. You could have heard a rat piss on cotton in his room! Nobody was in there." - Sonnen, nobody except the rats.
JOE ROGAN GETS ME HOT
"The feeling you're going to have when that [expletive] gorilla grabs a hold of you and yanks you up in the air and then smashes you and then gets on top of you. And those big [expletive] lunchbox fists. That's a wrap son. You're done." - UFC broadcaster Joe Rogan, reacting to James Toney calling out UFC heavyweight champ Brock Lesnar. (Cage Writer)
"You're not going to jab and shoulder roll your way away from Brock Lesnar. He's going to [expletive] you. Do whatever he wants to you." - Rogan. This is getting kind of hot.
"He's gonna have you work for him. He's gonna be your master. He gonna put a dog collar on you." - Rogan. I'm getting a little wet.
"If we didn't live in a civilized culture, thousands of year ago everyone that Brock Lesnar fought would be chained up. Would be chained up in his yard. They would work and they would just hope and pray that Brock doesn't get angry and decide to [expletive] you up today." - Rogan. This is one delicious cigarette.

Hottest Game of the Weekend - Blazers @ Suns (no pun intended)
As usual, AS USUAL my ball picks against his prevail. Cause of that game last night I slept past 130am, and woke up still feeling tired (I'm up @ 545am mon-fri) ewwww..... Anyhow, great team effort on the part of the Blazers being the first team taking that home court in the playoff's so far w/o their superstar, all star Brandon Roy aka So Smoove. Let's just go thru something quick peeps, DEFENSE wins in the playoffs. The Suns still don't get it.
Sunder, that's why I went on the other side of you're case for Phoinex, its the same story with them every season. Regular season hoo-ra and post season blaz-eh. Tight game throughout and I mean the Blazers in the last 2 mins of the game gave the Suns every chance to win, Camby missing an open court dunk, FT miss after miss, poor fouls and dumb decisions and the Suns still couldn't win.
Meh nah like it.....
Other notables from the game:
The following players need haircuts; andre miller, bayless, nash, jared dudley, goran
Camby's mustache = 80s paamp who does adult movies on the weekends or stunts in them
Andre miller can score?
Aldridge get some boards and shave its the post season you're on TV and you're a PF

What you may have missed!!!
I am going to start recapping all the weeks stuff, and other tidbits or posts that you may want to look at if you read the blog and whats' we'ez gots 2 say kid! so check out these posts and i can assure that this week there will be some more great content. We're gonna go full tilt, but dont forget we have over 3 months worth of awesome reads, take a look at some of these:
Where to take the future of MMA?
First off, I want to say how excited I am to finally push my ass into gear and contribute my very first article to Brokenankles. I feel many great things to come through this blog and its people. Last week we were presented with an uninspiring card in UFC 112. Rightfully so, the only match that lived up to the hype that WAS to be the great card of UFC 112 was Mark Munoz’ come from behind destruction KO win over Kendall Grove. (Shout outs to Mark for reppin’ our people well) At the end of the day, though fighters are fighters and I respect them for getting in the cage like that keeping in mind that I still look up to these three fighters that I’m about to mention, fans were disappointed and you can especially thank the lewd antics of one Anderson Silva, a one-off BJ Penn and a gassed out legend in Renzo Gracie. One would expect greatness in the performance of these three individuals in the UFC’s first show in Abu Dhabi, but for some reason it never came it was like the stars were crossed or something. It is lacklustre cards like these that may tarnish the UFC’s brand and ultimately MMA as a whole should the trend continue.
I myself have been a die-hard mma fan since 2000, followed Pride Fighting Championships religiously in it’s hayday along with some of the earlier UFC’s. As said in the title of the article, ‘Where to take the future of MMA?’ I am a firm believer that the world of MMA which is spearheaded by the UFC as its flagship brand can take a few tips from the way the boxing industry is structured. I do realize I may get a lot of flak for this but just listen...
There is no doubt that Dana White and the Fertitta brothers have done amazing things for MMA as far as bringing it to the mainstream of North America through its strong ‘UFC’ brand. However this idea of a strong ‘UFC’ brand that has almost monopolized the MMA market on this side of the world (aside from Strikeforce, Bellator etc.) worries me in that your average viewer thinks UFC is MMA, MMA is UFC. What this means is that if in the future people (casual fans) lose interest in the UFC, if UFC ever dies as a promotion, then Mixed Martial Arts here dies as well. It’s like an investment portfolio, it’s not wise to have all your eggs in one basket holding one stock. I feel the same way with MMA, the UFC is that one “stock” that holds all the clout in the MMA market. I personally like competition, I like diversification and I think the future of MMA needs that. The boxing industry in certain aspects has done that.
If you look at a boxing card, its promoters promote the fighters first rather than it’s promotion company over the fighters. I ask all of you, google under images “Pacquio vs. Cotto, Mayweather vs. Marquez, Tyson vs. Lewis, Ali vs. Foreman” and tell me what you all see. I bet you’ll see the fighters names being highlighted in the largest font. Though the UFC in their ads and promos may do this to a certain degree, you won’t see it without a giant “UFC 112, UFC 113, UFC 114 or a UFC Fight Night 4, 5, 6 etc.” clearly displayed. Like I mentioned boxing seems to focus more on the fighters and the sport itself rather than the promotion company. Out of the two top boxing promotions Top Rank and Golden Boy, when was the last time you saw a “Top Rank 98” or “Golden Boy 87”.
One thing that I like about the boxing industry is that competing promotions are willing to co-promote should two fighters from their respective promotions decide to fight against each other and should that fight draw a large viewing. It can be advantageous for all parties, you have cash flow coming in from not just one promoter one source but other sources, other promoters. More cash flow and marketing from various parties involved can help enhance payouts for the fighters. Cross promotions can help establish undisputed champions instead promotions staying exclusive and people left with ‘what-if’ scenarios. Come on people Brock vs. Fedor, for the sake of the damn sport let’s get it done.
Watching last night’s Strikeforce card, I am pleased to see continued cross promoting efforts with Dream a positive step following prior experiences co-promoting with M1-Global, Elite XC (now defunct), Affliction (now defunct). For those still new to MMA, it was great seeing a champion vs. champion match something you would never see in the UFC, between Gilbert Melendes the Lightweight Strikeforce champion against Shinya Aoki the Lightwieght Dream champion. Shinya Aoki was considered No.2 in the world for the lightweight rankings and with BJ Penn losing last week it meant that this match with Melendes had such a greater significance in determining the No.1 lightweight ranked fighter. Once again you can only do that with co-promotion. I understand the UFC’s desire to stranglehold the market especially since they possess most of the top fighters in certain divisions and since they’ve been responsible in bringing MMA to the mainstream audience, but in the long run constant branding of ‘UFC’ may get saturated in the public consciousness and people may get sick of it and may be turned off from MMA altogether.
In my perfect world, MMA should be MMA, it shouldn’t matter what brand it’s from, one company shouldn’t hold all the leverage. Branding and product should be secondary to the fighters, after all they’re the ones getting in the ring kick each other’s arse putting on a good show. Promotions should only be concerned about promoting the fighters, hyping the fight, making money for all parties and making sure the that the best match ups in the MMA industry are achieved no matter what and regardless of promotion affiliation. My two cents.

KG WTF!!!! Wannabe Tough Guys
Pierce goes down KG and co go over ti help him up and see if he's cool, Qrich comes by probably to see the same or see what's up, or even apologize and then mr I talk to myself cause I live in the muthaf'n zone 24/7 elbows him and shit gets live in a second. Did I fir get to mention Jermaine O'Neal plays for the Heat, do you all remember what happened last time JO was in a team brawl!!!??? Yah, exactly. Basically the jist of it and outcome is that KG the 14 yr vet nails Q with a bow and gets thrown out of the game and most likely will be suspended for game (see Dwight last post season in Philly on Sammy D).
Kevin Garnett if you somehow read this or hear about this post, know that just because you have been playing forever and are an icon or whatever.... It does not give you the right or entitlement to pull this kind of shit in the regular season or playoffs. This "image" you have developed since joining the Celtics is doing more harm then good. I think a lot of players look up to you or at least they once did but your continuous bullshittin is getting a little annoying and tired really quickly. If the Heat split in Boston just know it's on you dude. You really should know better, you act like a guy who has all the size and tools to intimidate but have never been in a real scrap. Seriously. Guys who have never been in a real scrap are really good at intimidating and shoving, that sounds a lot like you buddy.
Remember, if the Heat split it's all on you. I have been tired of this tough guy act ever since he joined the Celtics and has bullied his younger players on this C's squad ( see rondo and big baby, he actually made him cry!!!) and bullying younger players on opposing team ( see Calderon). KG you wanna pull some tough guy stuff try it with JO I dare you......
